Disco Chicks

Hello readers!!  I got this polish (Love & Beauty Silver Glitter) over a year ago and I use it every so often.  I even have a manicure right here from like when I first started blogging!  Oh the difference!

I kinda forgot to take a lot of pictures for this, so it is a quite short post.  But to explain the name, I work at a day camp and my girls are second graders.  Our group name is the Disco Chicks and these girls are the cutest things on the planet.  And there are only eight of them.  Yes, EIGHT!  I got luckyyy.  But since these girls are the Disco Chicks, for open house and the first day of camp I thought I would do something fitting, a.k.a. disco ball nails :)

Happy summer,
Em

Very Berry Replay (Except Not...)

Well, where I first saw this mani, I was like OMG and then I tried it.  Lol.

This is after I added some shimmer...
Original

Shimmery
Okay, so I know that I have been veryyyy lazy with posts lately.  I mean with finals last week and studying and graduation and work this week, it has been ridiculously crazy.  But like I said, it should be better now.  Well, that is unless I get home from work every day and fall asleep (like I have been)...
But for this manicure I used Love and Beauty Olive (I think, there was no tag on it) for the turquoise and Zoya Lolly for the pink.  And then for shimmer I added China Glaze White Cap.  Let me tell you, it looked AH-MAY-ZING!  Like I loved the look of it so much that I did just the turquoise on my toes (with the shimmer).  Very summery.

Happy summer,
Em

P.S. If you wanted to be awesome and follow me on Instagram (which would be awesome right?) then my username is emie116.  I don't post only nail-related things, but once in a few weeks I do post a mani.  There are a lot of things about me on there so you get to learn a little about my non-polish life :)

Spring Splatter Mani :)

I did this all the way back in March when Spring first started.  For this I used Love & Beauty Olive (the blue), Zoya Pippa (yellow), and Funky Fingers Cheshire (purple) and Wet n Wild French White for the base to splatter over.

Err, kinda failed couple of fingers.

Even though it really doesn't appear like it, I think it came out very well.  The colors worked very well together and it looked actually pretty good.  I like it.
Err, not really much to say about it, but I got newer, smaller straws for splattering.

Happy splattering,
Em

Zoya Ali and Love and Beauty Pink Speckled Glitter and Pure ICE Don't You Wish

Hello peoples!  I am sorry to photobomb you later in this post but I couldn't choose many good pictures so I just included a ton of them :P.
While I was shopping at a random mall last weekend, I came across this at the huge Forever 21 that they have there.  Like my local one is big, but this one is like four times the size of mine.  Mega.  And in there I found THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In real life, it looks like OPI I Lily Love You, or this if you see it.  It looks rediculously close to it, but the Love and Beauty one has less flakies and more iridescent glitter.  But it is still close!  I only got it because I was so angry that I missed out on the OPI one.  This was a nice, (so much) cheap(-er) alternitive.  But my bottle is THICKKKKKKK and I wish I had known that.  The brush was all wonky too but I could still deal with it.
I didn't want to go all amazing that fast so I started out layering it over Zoya Ali, a medium-ish neon-ish pink.  A pink that I can kiiiiinda deal with.
And as an accent nail, I put two layers of Pure ICE Don't You Wish (which is the same concept as CG Fairy Dust but not the same thing (bigger glitter in DYW, more colorful, smaller and more holo in FD)).
  So onto the pictures!
L to R: flakies, flakies, Pure ICE glitter, flakies.
There's my flakies!
Flash
Blurred

Flash
Flash, not NEARLY color accurate

To show the differene
Probably the most color accurate one but not quite right...

Too dark

It is a solid mani.  I did this on Saturday and as of today, Wednesday, I still have it almost perfect.  Just a few chips on the edges of nails and my left pointer finger's one completely popped off.  But it LASTS!!!!
Again, sorry to photobomb you.  Just had to do it.
Oh, and while I was at that mall, I also picked up Icing Pre Game (this is Icing After Party but in my eyes it looks like the same thing, my bottle must have been mislabled cuz I have never seen Icing Pre Game), Icing Rockstar From Mars (to complete my Charlie Sheen collection), and Icing Birthday Beyotch (another DL similar thingy).

Happy flakie-ing,
Em

The Evolution of the St. Patrick's Day Mani

So we remember this?  From St. Patrick's Day.  Well as you can tell, this is the evolution of it.
Original
Result.  Emerald Fitzgerald looks almost black here!
Awk angle, sorry, lol.
Before being matted

Now for the normal pictures!
:)

I love matte glitter!
So one coat of China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, one coat of Love & Beauty Green/Clear Glitter, and then a matte top coat.  I love love this!  I definitely need to use glitter and matte top coat more often!  Agreed?

Happy matting,
Em

Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby and Love & Beauty Red Glitter

This was from FOREVERRRR ago.  It took me a while to find the pictures too.  Luckily I know how to navigate Gmail easily and found these.  Awesome :)
Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby is a red jelly.

Love & Beauty Red Glitter is a, uh, red glitter, lol.

Red glitter is super shiny :D

It has small red glitter, medium red glitter, and large-ish red hex glitter.  The other two are just circular I believe.

I felt like I was from the Wizard of Oz with this manicure.

Glitter is a girl's best friend :)
I love it.  I felt like Dorothy (not like Dorothy Who? which I still can't wait to try.  This manicure was from like... November so I don't remember much about it, sorry :(.
But that's it for now.  Expect a lot soon :)

Happy glittering,
Em

Funky Fingers Power Play and Love & Beauty Multi (Mattified)

To start, Power Play (PP) is a neon purple in the bottle and on the nail it turns darker.  PP on me ended up looking like the color in the bottle mixed with red wine.  Its like a dark-ish purple/pink/red.  Its not nearly as neon on my nails as it is in the bottle.  See?

It looks like a berry wine here! (Thats the matte talking)
I dare you, just go onto Google Images and search "funky fingers power play" and THAT is the color.  Not this.
I am giving you a fair warning.  I love this mani even despite the tip wear after two and a half days.
Lots of "fail" pictures ahead.  I warned you...

This does not look matte.  That is the sparkles from Multi.
This is the bottle color!  Not that berry crap above this pic!

Ooohh deep wine color :) (I so want a polish that actually looks like that)
Definitely matte- eh?  I had to get my looong pinky nail in a shadow to show you that in fact this IS matte.

I might just be on a sparkle high.

Another more matte picture.

Dark.  Grrr

Why does this picture for my windowsill remind me of the beach?

Ok this is the almost-perfect picture.  This has the bottle color, the glitter, and the MATTE :)
Except on the nail is not the bottle color.  Mix this and the berry/wine color and thats what is on my nails.

Ok for my matte I used Hard Candy's Matte-ly In Love.  It applied like a dream.  I might actually understand matte now.  Hmm...
PP is very bright and looks much like the bottle color before I matte-ed it.  I do love this and the tip wear is due to the matte-ness of it.

Have you ever had a total win in a manicure but a total fail taking pictures of it?!

Happy matte-ing,
Em
