Josh's Graduation!

Hey guys!  Again, sorry about the lack of posting, things have been very crazy lately...
But my brother graduated last month (2 years older than I) and I did this manicure to represent our high school colors, navy and white.  I'm very big in school pride so I mix these a lot...

The blue is China Glaze First Mate and the White is Wet n Wild French White.  Looking at these nails these days it's like OMG nubbins!!  So yeah mine right now are much longerrrr.  Not like very long just longer than I am used to.
I cried at graduation.  This is my sibling that is closest in age to me and therefore he was my buddy and I love him <3.

Happy graduation,
Em

Very Berry Replay (Except Not...)

Well, where I first saw this mani, I was like OMG and then I tried it.  Lol.

This is after I added some shimmer...
Original

Shimmery
Okay, so I know that I have been veryyyy lazy with posts lately.  I mean with finals last week and studying and graduation and work this week, it has been ridiculously crazy.  But like I said, it should be better now.  Well, that is unless I get home from work every day and fall asleep (like I have been)...
But for this manicure I used Love and Beauty Olive (I think, there was no tag on it) for the turquoise and Zoya Lolly for the pink.  And then for shimmer I added China Glaze White Cap.  Let me tell you, it looked AH-MAY-ZING!  Like I loved the look of it so much that I did just the turquoise on my toes (with the shimmer).  Very summery.

Happy summer,
Em

P.S. If you wanted to be awesome and follow me on Instagram (which would be awesome right?) then my username is emie116.  I don't post only nail-related things, but once in a few weeks I do post a mani.  There are a lot of things about me on there so you get to learn a little about my non-polish life :)

Wet n Wild Black Creme Etc.

Ello guys!  As I get ready for my brothers graduation, please enjoy this random post.

What I used was Wet n Wild Black Creme with Essie Shine of the Times and OPI Crown Me Already!  on top of it.  I wanted something... random.  So here is random!!
So like I said, my brother's graduation from high school is tonight so I'm going to start getting ready for that in a bit (I have to play in the band).  It is outside on the football field and it is supposed to be nearly 90 degrees tonight.  It's going to be hot and sticky and blech but I'm happy for him.  I did my nails to match our school colors/my dress.

Happy graduating,
Em

Zoya Ali and Love and Beauty Pink Speckled Glitter and Pure ICE Don't You Wish

Hello peoples!  I am sorry to photobomb you later in this post but I couldn't choose many good pictures so I just included a ton of them :P.
While I was shopping at a random mall last weekend, I came across this at the huge Forever 21 that they have there.  Like my local one is big, but this one is like four times the size of mine.  Mega.  And in there I found THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In real life, it looks like OPI I Lily Love You, or this if you see it.  It looks rediculously close to it, but the Love and Beauty one has less flakies and more iridescent glitter.  But it is still close!  I only got it because I was so angry that I missed out on the OPI one.  This was a nice, (so much) cheap(-er) alternitive.  But my bottle is THICKKKKKKK and I wish I had known that.  The brush was all wonky too but I could still deal with it.
I didn't want to go all amazing that fast so I started out layering it over Zoya Ali, a medium-ish neon-ish pink.  A pink that I can kiiiiinda deal with.
And as an accent nail, I put two layers of Pure ICE Don't You Wish (which is the same concept as CG Fairy Dust but not the same thing (bigger glitter in DYW, more colorful, smaller and more holo in FD)).
  So onto the pictures!
L to R: flakies, flakies, Pure ICE glitter, flakies.
There's my flakies!

Flash, not NEARLY color accurate

To show the differene
Probably the most color accurate one but not quite right...

Too dark

It is a solid mani.  I did this on Saturday and as of today, Wednesday, I still have it almost perfect.  Just a few chips on the edges of nails and my left pointer finger's one completely popped off.  But it LASTS!!!!
Again, sorry to photobomb you.  Just had to do it.
Oh, and while I was at that mall, I also picked up Icing Pre Game (this is Icing After Party but in my eyes it looks like the same thing, my bottle must have been mislabled cuz I have never seen Icing Pre Game), Icing Rockstar From Mars (to complete my Charlie Sheen collection), and Icing Birthday Beyotch (another DL similar thingy).

Happy flakie-ing,
Em

Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby and Sand and Stilletos

Hello world!!  A while ago I decided to do an awesome holographic accent manicure and I ended up with a Funky Fingers glitter manicure.  So ta-da!
Macro photo.

Blurred to show holo-ness
:D
Most of these pictures are from inside of my car after school so thats why there is a weird slanted background in some.
I think I ended up with two thick coats of each and a coat or two of top coat to smooth it all out.  With my usual base + top coats.

Happy holo-ing,
Em

$OPI Slushied and OPI Funky Dunkey

I went college touring along parts of the east coast with my brother during spring break, so I needed a cute, solid manicure to last me the week.  It didn't last me, but it was still cute and solid.  I used Sephora by OPI Slushied (arguably my favorite blue creme) and OPI Funky Dunkey.  I love love love them both.

It was a pretty nice accent mani if I do say so myself.  The blue and purple looked pretty good together.
3 coats of each, decent application.  My usual base + top coats.  Niice!

Happy accenting,
Em

OPI Swimsuit... Nailed It! and OPI Sit Under the Apple Tree

The result of randomly choosing two polishes from my stash.
Still love this.  Gotta love this.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
:-/
Note to self: layer!

Double accent manicure.
Blue = win.  Greenish-yellow = not so much.  All I can really say.  I need to do something with SUTAP or else I will hate it.  Aka like here!  P.S. original Swimsuit... Nailed It! post here! (even though it looks better here anyway)

Happy accenting,
Em

China Glaze Ahoy! with China Glaze White Cap

Back in February (oh god...) when I still had Ahoy! on, I said that I might try to put White Cap over it.  Well... I did.  And here is the accented result.
Ta-da!
Not my best choice but it looked pretty cool.
I still like both polishes but not really together, lol.  Back to the drawing board!

Happy layering,
Em

Go Princeton!

My basketball team this season is Princeton and our colors are purple and yellow.  This past Saturday we played the undefeated team and I wanted something cute to go along with our uniforms.  So I ended up with a purple and yellow accent mani.
In case you were wondering, my team is in fourth place, we have won 4 games but lost 3, and I have only scored 2 points this season (on that Saturday, lol).  We did lose last Saturday though.

In the light.  Color inaccurate.

Better :)

I really enjoyed this mani.
I almost forgot to say, the purple is OPI Funky Dunkey and the yellow is Zoya Pippa.  I love both of these and I am again wearing Funky Dunkey as a full mani for pictures today.  Pictures of that eventually (when I get back on posting track!).

And also, I know I've been a bad blogger lately.  A lot of stuff has been going on between me and my family so I've had a lot on my mind.  I still remember and keep care of my nails but I just haven't had enough energy to post like twice I week like I should be doing.  I'm trying to get back on track these days.

Happy basketballing,
Em
