OPI It's My Year

I am going to appologize in advance for the seemingly terrible, chipped photos.
After I matted it.
Beautiful shimmer.
I didn't really like it much though.
FREAKING SHIMMER!

Agh chips!
Like I said, not too happy with this manicure either.  It was a nice color that I didn't really like itself.  I matted it then liked it for a while, then it was meh again.  Pictures taken in the beautiful sun of these past few weeks.  It was literally like summer weather :D.
I got this through a giveaway and the original post can be found here!
Have fun with the bad weather again!

Happy matting,
Em

R U RAH RAH?

Back in February (I think) my family went to a Rutgers men's basketball game (I thiiiiiink they lost, don't quote me on that).  All I can really remember was criticizing Josh with Dan and singing stand tunes with Josh.  Being a band geek, you know every stand tune out there ;).
But this is the manicure I wore to the game.  One freaking fail of a manicure.
China Glaze Hey Sailor with Funky Fingers White Scales on all but my ring fingers.
Wet n Wild French White on the accent finger.
Like, freaking look at it!  The red was like "heh heh heh it would be funny if I smudged.  ALL OVER THE WHITE!"
Grr.  I was notttt happy with the final result of this.  But all in all, GO RUTGERS!  (I know they are out of March Madness already :-/)

Happy cheering,
Em

Nail Mail and a Fail

So back in March, my brother came home for spring break with my long awaited package from Stephanie from Short n Chic from her Miss Universe Giveaway from October.  I already had one of the polishes from the four-piece collection and Stephanie sent an extra two (THANK YOU!) along with the package.  So onto the pictures!
OPI Swimsuit... Nailed It!

Butter London Prince's Plums (and why is it upside down?)
OPI It's My Year

OPI Pink Shatter
OPI Congeniality Is My Middle Name

OPI Crown My Already!
Now onto my fail.  On my Slushied/Spectrum Manicure (which I am not sure when I will get up because of the backlog), I must have accidently left Spectrum open.  And I do my nails while sitting on my bedroom floor.  Either the next morning, or two mornings later, I found this:
After some nail polish remover, it still looked like this.
P.S. DO NOT USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER ON A WOOD FLOOR.  I TOOK A RISK. DO NOT TAKE MY RISK.
After some heavy duty scrubbing with Oops!, I ended up with this.  This is even what it looks like now, several weeks later.
The tealish sparkley part is where I used Oops! and scraped.  The whiteish purple part is where I used nail polish remover.
I repeat: DO NOT USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER.

Yeah so nail mail and a fail.  Greeeeeeeat.

Happy mailing/failing,
Em

Revlon Carbonite

Hello blogopshere!  Want to hear a funny story?  I am extremely backlogged on posting.  Like 13 drafts backlogged...  And then there are those awkward moments when I have a beautiful manicure that lasts two days and I forget to take pictures of it...  Hate those days...
But today, I've got a manicure from late February.  Revlon Carbonite.  This lasted like a few days on me.  Manicures on me = don't last too long.  But it is G O R G E O U S!  So worth getting!
I love how it looks gritty and grungy.

Bottle shott
Here you can see it's dimentions.

Silver here.

Sorry for lack of cleanup but THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY I LOVE IT!

Carbonite is a well-known pretty much dupe for Chanel Graphite.  I love both colors and from not owning Graphite, I can't say whether they are real dupes or not.  Sorry :(.
But it is this silver with gold shimmer and it looks like slightly rusted metal.  I am totally in love with it. If you see it, get it.  You won't be sorry.  This is two? three? coats shown here.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (Green Mani)

I really wanted to post this yesteday, but I was out babysitting all night and didn't have a computer to type on.  And my phone was being stupid and not letting me type anything.  So I'm attempting to type it now!
Well, happy day after St. Patrick's Day.  For my green mani, I chose to do China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald.  It is a deep, deep green and I love love love it!  Enjoy!

Beautiful

I used ONE coat.  It is the most gorgeous dark green I have in my collection.  I got it on clearance last summer so if you find it, more power to you.

Happy St. Patricking,

Revlon Whimsical

I caved in, saw Revlon Whimsical at Ulta, and was like, "Yeah you're coming home with me."  So here it is!  I layered it over Revlon Blue Lagoon which is like a perfect match in color for it.  Because Whimsical has a milky blue base, it is best to layer it over any type of blue, but maybe a pink would work too.

Beautiful!
Bottle shot.
Sorry for the lines across the photo.

It would probably look amazing matte.
Milky.

Love it!
I apologize for a ton of photos...
I know I'm not the only one that layered Whimsical over Blue Lagoon.  And I know I'm not the only one that ended up with bubbles.  Freaking bubbles.  It made me so unhappy :(.  Some say that it blends in with the glitter but no, it really doesn't.  Maybe it's Blue Lagoon that does that because I've had bubbles with BL before.  Like here.
But it's all good.  And I still love it. :)

Happy glittering,
Em

I Love Experimenting on Mel...

We got reaally bored reaally fast...  So this is what we came up with on our... Jenga day...
Be ready for picture overload.  And they are out of order...

Right hand

Claire's Blacklight with Essie Shine of the Times

Sephora by OPI Slushied with Pure Ice Oh Baby!

Sephora by OPI Slushied with Revlon Blue Mosaic

Hot Topic Neon Green with Essie Shine of the Times

China Glaze Mega Bite with Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby

Left Hand

Delia's Neon Orange and Essie Shine of the Times

(green nail) Pure Ice First Time

Claire's Blacklight with OPI Silver Shatter

Claire's Blacklight with 2012 Jesus Christ Superstar

China Glaze Mega Bite with China Glaze White Cap

Clair'es Blacklight with Revlon Blue Mosaic
So basically, it was a sans cleanup layering fest.  I just wanted to try random things out.  She actually hated the Blacklight/Jesus Christ Superstar combo so much that she removed it and put some other neon on instead.
  Hope you like the randomness!

Happy randoming,
Em
