Funky Fingers Monster Ballad

Hey everyone!!  Today I have Funk Fingers Monster Ballad, a pink chrome.  Well, maybe not a chrome, but in that family.  I kind of liked it.  If you can see closely, there are many, many little bubbles. And imprints.  It didn't like me very much...

It's a nice shade of pink.

As I have said many, many times before, I am not a pink person.  I like pink clothes, but I hate pink on my nails.  Only a few have broken that standard: namely Zoya Lolly and China Glaze Ahoy!.  Umm, like the only two pinks I have posted about??  Lol.  Well, this follows the rule that I don't particularly like pinks.  It's nice... just not for me.  I would've liked it better if it cooperated with me.  Also, I think this is a dupe of one of the ones from Color Club's Foiled collection, but I'm not positive.  It is a possibility though because they are made by the same company.
Nice application, 3 coats.  My usual base + top coat.  Just not the desired result.

Happy chrome-ing,
Em

Wet n Wild French White with Essie Shine of the Times

I used Essie's Shine of the Times over black back here.  I recently bought a second one of it because it is JUST THAT AWESOME!!
Two coats

With SOTT, it looks awesomeeee!

Yeah I took a lot of pictures.
Full spectrum of it.
Instead of the full spectrum of color over black, I wanted to try an awesome, yet less out there combination.  And I couldn't be happier.  It looks pretty damn cool.
If you've got a white creme and a flakie polish, definitely try it.

Happy flaking,
Em

Icing Epic Winning Reswatch

To end my basketball season with a bang, I needed something.  Something... lucky.  Because even though we made it to the championship game, it was a team we lost to by one point (twice).  One shot could've made a difference in those games but whatever.  So I needed something... winning.  Enter Epic Winning :).

Shade and light.

Me loves me some holo glitter.
Love it in shade too.

Like before, it was a pain in the ass to apply.  Like thick and ewww but it looks SOO cool.  Worth it :).  Only two coats this time.
We did lose the game (by one point, shocker), but it was a hard fought game.  We had a really good team and we played hard.  Personally, I'll take second place any day.

Happy glittering,
Em

Sephora by OPI Slushied and Sally Hansen HD Spectrum

So just to warn you, this is the mani that caused this fail.  This shimmer that WON'T GET OFF OF MY FLOOR!  Grr, lol.
Err, after shimmer?  Probably, even though I can't see it here.
There's that purple!

It works well with Slushied.
Just Slushied.

Just Slushied.
SEE IT?  SEE THE CULPRIT OF THE CRIME??? (I'm jk)
I <3 duochrome shimmers!
With and without Spectrum
:)

I love love loved this manicure!  I got a lot of compliments on it too!  It was so pretty, purple and blue in some lights, pure teal in others.  It's a chameleon!
Just so you know, I am not blaming the polish for my floor.  It was my own stupidity :P.

Happy shimmering,
Em

OPI Swimsuit... Nailed It! and OPI Sit Under the Apple Tree

The result of randomly choosing two polishes from my stash.
Still love this.  Gotta love this.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
:-/
Note to self: layer!

Double accent manicure.
Blue = win.  Greenish-yellow = not so much.  All I can really say.  I need to do something with SUTAP or else I will hate it.  Aka like here!  P.S. original Swimsuit... Nailed It! post here! (even though it looks better here anyway)

Happy accenting,
Em

China Glaze Ahoy! with China Glaze White Cap

Back in February (oh god...) when I still had Ahoy! on, I said that I might try to put White Cap over it.  Well... I did.  And here is the accented result.
Ta-da!
Not my best choice but it looked pretty cool.
I still like both polishes but not really together, lol.  Back to the drawing board!

Happy layering,
Em

Funky Fingers Riot and Teal Scales (fail...)

Okay, before you say: "Em, what were you thinking?  These colors SUCK together!"  I had something I was aiming for.  I was aiming for this awesome combo.  My purple was too dark and I now know that.  I need to experiment with Teal Scales though...
Without top coat, kinda hard to see it...

Without top coat

With, extremely hard to see!

You see that awesomeness???

Not how I planned, purple was too dark...

SO DARK!
I will find a way to make this polish look gorgeous!  It has a helluva lot of potential!

Happy shattering,
Em

The Evolution of the St. Patrick's Day Mani

So we remember this?  From St. Patrick's Day.  Well as you can tell, this is the evolution of it.
Original
Result.  Emerald Fitzgerald looks almost black here!
Awk angle, sorry, lol.
Before being matted

Now for the normal pictures!
:)

I love matte glitter!
So one coat of China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, one coat of Love & Beauty Green/Clear Glitter, and then a matte top coat.  I love love this!  I definitely need to use glitter and matte top coat more often!  Agreed?

Happy matting,
Em
