Funky Fingers Port Royal (Jelly Sammich)

Awkward blurry picture!  Jelly sammich.
Thumb.  Why is blogger being stupid again and messing up my pictures?
This mani was taken off after about an hour.  Why?  Because it didn't dry!!!  Grr!!!  But it looked soo awesome while it existed.  To clarify, the Port Royal to jelly-ify it didn't dry on my left hand and Happy Birthday (finally tried, sadly not for long) didn't dry on my right hand.
Looks slightly jelly here.  IT IS NOT NEON! YAY!

Nice with Happy Birthday on it :)
Port Royal is scented!!  I smelled something nice and sweet as it was drying but my brother said that it was my imagination.  It wasn't :)  It is a candy bubblegum smell.  Nice.
Don't slap me, but I don't love Happy Birthday as much as I thought that I would...

Happy sammiching,
Em

China Glaze Silver Lining

Another one from my birthday!!  I never thought that this could be opaque but it is!!!!!!!!!  I am not sure what collection it is or if it is from the core line...
This reminds me of a happier time... (cue sappy music)  This reminds me of my second or third grade birthday party at a roller rink where my best guyfriend came before he moved to Virginia.  Even though he wasn't the one who gave me the bottle of nail polish that this reminds me of.  Someone else did.  I still have the bottle and the little pink purse it came with...
In the shade.  It kind of looks like a foil here, doesn't it?
Before you think this, NO IT IS NOT HOLO.  It is just super shiny :)
WOW!
Sigh... I am so glad I finally tried this one.  I feel that this is too opaque to be worn as a glitter on top of another color.  Surprisingly, I do not fear removal of this.  I think that the glitter in this is small enough to come off easily.  And a bonus, one coat of top coat takes away the gritty feel of it!!!
I feel like a need a red silk dress or a little black dress to go with this.  If I was walking the red carpet, I would walk it with this on my nails.  :)
  This is what I needed.

Happy glittering,
Em

Spaced Out!

After three days of my Black on Black/Busted mani, I decided what it finally reminded me of, outer space!  But not quite...  I knew it needed something extra on top of it...
I was ready to crack out my silver glitter and my blue shimmer.  Eventually I just decided not to use the glitter and add the shimmer, then mattify it!

I apologize for the awkward tip wear.

Ba bam!

Some subtle yellow shimmer adds to the space effect.

:)
Now this is an awesomesauce manicure!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy spacing,
Em

Black Busted

Oh my gosh...  I can't even believe that I hadn't done this the first second I owned Busted.  This manicure is pure win.
Let the records tell that this is one of THE BEST MANICURES OF ALL TIME (for two drugstore brands)!  And I'm not even joking.  The pictures dont do it justice at ALL!

Far away picture.  Awesomeness!

Cool duochrome-ness

It is purple in full sunlight.

Aah!!!!!

Duochrome close up.

Honestly, who wouldn't want to have a mani as hot as this???

Happy layering,
Em

Revlon Blue Lagoon with Pure Ice Oh Baby and OPI Black Shatter

I don't exactly know what to say.  This manicure is first of all terrible.  I didn't know what I wanted to do for my next manicure so I picked out my most recent buy.  I bought this on a whim only because I wanted a baby blue.
When I looked this up on my Google Reader when I got home, I thought what have I done?  I had read that it was streaky and terrible.  I thought maybe that was just their application and maybe it would be different for me...
I was wrong.  Stroke 1: Wow nice color.  Stroke 2: Great pigmentation.  Stroke 3: Aw shit!  Then it turned streaky and only went downhill from there.  It looks great in the bottle but I don't love it.  I used two coats but I should've done three.  Then I put Pure Ice Oh Baby over it (second mani with it in a row!) and I liked it.  The duochrome shimmer in Oh Baby made Blue Lagoon more like-able.  Then I shattered it which didn't exactly go well.  It didn't shatter as I had wanted it to but oh well.
Just saying, even after two coats of top coat, I had three minor chips within seven hours after I started applying it.  None of which are touched up in these pictures.
See? A somewhat decent manicure...
Stupid blogger is not letting me put my pictures in order!!

Awkward edited picture...

This manicure was not at all how I planned it to be.  I'm not sure whether I totally have to write off Blue Lagoon yet but when I try my peace mani (not sure when that's going to be yet) I'll decide officially how sucky it is.  I didn't take a picture of it alone because I was embarrassed...
All in all, it ended up looking pretty okay.  Application of the Revlon and the OPI was a bitch though.

Happy streaking,
Em

P.S.- I'm sorry for the nubbins.  I was at the beach which killed the splatter design and the salt water dried my nail out and made them brittle.  They were now prone to break which almost all of them did.  I was extremely pissed.

Splatter Manicure (A First!)

I was so excited to do this (after I waited on my Deborah Lippmann manicure)!  But let me just say this took forever.  Though it looks so cool so I don't care! :)
I did this at like 9am right after my brother left for work and I walked back into my house after finishing this and it was 11:10am!  But that evening when I was at my best friends house she wanted me to do a splatter mani for her too.  She used a light taupe shimmer for her base (I don't know the name, sorry!) and we splattered with China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Sinful Colors Pink Cream, and OPI Ogre-the-Top Blue.  I don't have pictures of her manicure because I did it at night and when I was at her house the next afternoon, it had already chipped because she failed to put on top coat *tsk tsk*.
But on my splatter mani, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base and I splattered with Sinful Colors Cream Pink, Funky Fingers Riot, and Funky Fingers 220 Volts.  I wanted to use cheaper nail polish (SC were $2 each at Target and FF were 3 for $5 at Five Below) in case it looked very bad (but luckily it didn't).
I used the tutorial from Jen at The PolishAholic to do this mani.  The size straw I used was smaller than a McDonald's straw but about the size of a Starbucks straw that you use to drink your coffee.  I also decided to add shimmer in Pure Ice Oh Baby on top of the splatter :)

The plate that I splattered over.
Left thumb.  Very blurry (I know :P).  This was the first nail I splattered.  I think I did a pretty good job :)

Left hand.  Looks pretty good, eh?

Extremely blurry right thumb.  I will explain later...
My two favorite fingers (right ring and right pinky).
My workspace.  Sad isn't it?
The Deborah Lippmann set I just picked up from Nordstrom during their anniversary sale!

Right hand.  If you're wondering, my computer is from when I searched "Youtube myspace and I'll google your yahoo!"

Okay I have a few things to explain about this post.  First of all, I am starting to watermark my pictures.  I don't fear people stealing them, I just want it to be made known that they are mine (and just in case someone tries to take them).
Also, I am ashamed at the quality of my pictures.  They really suck and I really do know it.  I have my Nikon at home but its really not cooperating.  The last time I can remember it cooperating was about early June.  But it won't focus so I do have to post the sucky quality of my phone pictures.  I might try Mom's phone's pictures soon...
In addition to that, Blogger decided not to cooperate with me today so all my pictures are out of order.  I apologize for that...
Finally, I am scheduling posts.  The first one I did this with was China Glaze Mega Bite post.  This is because the mani before that lasted only a few days and I'm trying to stay weekly :).

Okay I love love love this!  Enjoy!

Happy splattering!
Em
