DL Candy Shop

This was one of the gems I bought for a ridiculous price last year... Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop!

My nail broken (mentioned in a pervious post)

Ok I TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY LOVE THIS!  I wore it to my cousins Bar Mitzvah and my grandmother thought I had fake nails, haha.  Everyone knows I bite mine (hence why they are short now...).
There are no words for this, I LOVE IT!!  Three coats of pink suspended love on my nails and I'm all good :).

Happy spending,
Em

The Evolution of Zoya Phoebe

The most PERFECT blue matte went through one of my evolutions.  It is gorgeous by itself anyway, but I had to make it more epic.  :)
Matte.
With top coat.

Oh my God, if all of my pictures could look like this, I would be forever happy.
Same as above.
:)
Uh, green?  Lol.
With Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

I didn't leave Phoebe matte by itself, but I wore it without Happy Birthday for a day I believe.  It looked so gorgeous.  No complaints at all.
Phoebe had 3 coats, Happy Birthday had 2.  My usual base + top coat.  Lovely, just lovely.

Happy evolving,
Em

Happy Birthday!!!!! (literally)

Hello people of the interwebs!!  I have an actual current post for you guys today instead of my regularly scheduled things.
So today I have Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday.  I have layered it many times over other things but this time, I needed to wear it solo.  I needed something... proper for my sixteenth birthday :D.
Yes, today I turn sixteen and I am soo excited.  It's been crazy stressful in my life these past few weeks and today is no exception to that rule.  So after this post its back to our semi-usual programming :-/.
AGH! AGH! AGH!!!!

This is with one coat.
Now THIS is a proper birthday manicure.

Ooh.  Aah.

I used two thick coats to make this basically opaque.  If you look really closely, you can see some bald spots here and there but only if you are looking for it.  It isn't really visible in person.
So glitter is kind of my thing so this really works.

Happy Birthday,
Em

Deborah Lippmann Forget You

Waaaaaaaayyyy back in August, during Nordstrom's anniversary sale, I picked up the Get This Party Started Set.  Awesome!  You can see the set here and you can see Happy Birthday here and here.
I put it on and really didn't like it.  After almost a full day of wear, I love it.  I feel like I have chocolate cupcakes on my fingers (glitter reminds me of sprinkles).  It is oh-so gorgeous.  Glitter, check.  Black base, check.  Expensive, check.  Awesome, check!

*drool*

Black jelly-ish base with Happy Birthday glitter
The bottle

Oh god...
OMG = oh my glitter

Yeaaaaah I screwed up application on that finger, just ignore it :)

Ta-da!
One coat of top coat basically smoothes it out.  I used two for double-shine.  It was kinda dull with only one.
I needed something motivational.  Something... inspiring.  My solution, glitter.  And lots of it.  I needed something kick-ass to start of midterms with.  As of right this second, I finished my first two.  6 more to go.
Possibly expect something this weekend or early next week!

Happy forgetting,
Em

OPI Sit Under the Apple Tree with DL Happy Birthday (Shimmer Sammich)

I have never seen a shimmer sandwich done.  I bet it has been done but I haven't seen it.  Ta-da!  Behold the greenish-yellowish shimmer in SUTAT and the glitter in HB.
SUTAT is a sheer green-yellow shimmer.  It could probably be opaque in 3 coats but I didn't try to make it opaque.
It really does look like a Granny Smith apple.  Love <3

1 coat of SITAT and 1 coat of HB then another coat of SITAT.  Plus top coat.

Its like an odd version of the Get This Party Started! set.

Muy bueno.  I love it.

Best picture.
I love SITAT more than I thought and I learned that HB really does dry :).

Happy sandwiching,
Em

Funky Fingers Port Royal (Jelly Sammich)

Awkward blurry picture!  Jelly sammich.
Thumb.  Why is blogger being stupid again and messing up my pictures?
This mani was taken off after about an hour.  Why?  Because it didn't dry!!!  Grr!!!  But it looked soo awesome while it existed.  To clarify, the Port Royal to jelly-ify it didn't dry on my left hand and Happy Birthday (finally tried, sadly not for long) didn't dry on my right hand.
Looks slightly jelly here.  IT IS NOT NEON! YAY!

Nice with Happy Birthday on it :)
Port Royal is scented!!  I smelled something nice and sweet as it was drying but my brother said that it was my imagination.  It wasn't :)  It is a candy bubblegum smell.  Nice.
Don't slap me, but I don't love Happy Birthday as much as I thought that I would...

Happy sammiching,
Em

Deborah Lippmann Upcoming Collection Press Releases

Just in time for the holiday season,
Deborah Lippmann Gets the Party started

Nothing says ‘Party’ like the magnetic sparkle of glitter. So for the biggest party season of the year, I’ve created shades that truly dazzle. Get This Party Started, a set of three glitters, was inspired by the overwhelming demand for my best selling Happy Birthday, a glittery party in a bottle.
The set includes Happy Birthday, along with two new variations of the sparkling shade: Forget You andCandy Shop. They’re both packed with the same unique hexagon-shaped glitter that gives Happy Birthdayits magnificent glint, only Forget You has a sheer black base and Candy Shop a bubblegum pink.

"I love how festive all three look and feel, whether wrapped around a champagne glass or peeping out of a glamorous pump. But what I truly love the most: how a few coats of any shade instantly transforms you into the life of the party."

XOXO,
Deborah

Warm Up With Deborah Lippmann’s Fall 2011 Shades

"I have worked directly with some of the world’s top fashion designers on everything from ad campaigns to fashion shows. When I set out to select nail looks for the Fall 2011 collections, I noticed a common theme among all of my collaborators: warmth. The clothes featured vivid, lush earth tones—think lush greens, rich reds and intense golds.

I wanted to capture a similar heat and earthiness in the accompanying polishes, but with an added punch.Billionaire, a moody hunter green, Brick House, a shimmering rust, and Single Ladies, a flirtatious red, all have warm undertones, which give them a beautiful intensity, but also have a jewel-like quality so they really make nails pop."

XOXO,
Deborah

Show Worthy

Deborah Lippmann’s new shade, Stormy Weather, is a collaboration with fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez.

"Usually Narciso requests a nude nail to complement his minimalist designs, but for fall 2011 around he wanted something bolder — a color with strength and edge to offset both his collection and the softness of the hair and makeup. For the perfect custom finish, I mixed (and mixed) a new shade by hand in just 24 hours. The final product: an edgy granite that emanated power and intensity. The models who walked the show (and who rarely, if ever, comment on the nail color) gushed over the shade. And so Stormy Weather was born an edgy granite (crème) for a strong fall statement."

XOXO,
Deborah
